The Breadalbane Inn is happy to welcome Chef Matthew to their culinary team.
With a background that includes positions at some of the country's top establishments, Chef Matthew Foote is one of Canada's rising stars.
His passion for local ingredients has inspired him to create honest and seasonal menus throughout his career and is the driving force behind the cuisine at The Breadalbane.
Chef Foote attributes his success to his training, which began as a student at George Brown College. His apprenticeship at the Westin Harbour Castle helped propel him to other impressive posts including Scaramouche, The Four Seasons Hotel Toronto and Langdon Hall; where an appreciation for the simplicity of food was first instilled in him.
As Executive Chef of The Breadalbane, Foote draws upon the expertise of local artisnal farmers and suppliers; with the limitless support of Peter Egger, Innkeeper of The Breadalbane.
“It is my sincere desire to cook with my parents' spirit of hospitality; skill that makes my wife swoon and the logic of my brother.” says Foote. “Most importantly, I am never too serious to cook for my children.”
